Hello! I'm Jess Bugg.

 

I'm a writer, and artist based in Midcoast Maine.

I am the Creative Director, and Co-Founder of Low Season, where we create outdoor essentials and fragrances made from plants.

 

I earned my BA in visual communication from SCAD and my MA in nature-culture-sustainability studies from RISD. My work tends to live at the intersection of environmental urgency and creativity. My 2024 book, You Had to Be There, published by Lantern Publishing & Media, examines climate grief through personal essays and academic analysis. My 2026 oracle deck & guidebook, The Earth Oracle, explores the wisdom of the earth beyond metaphor and seeks practical guidance from the natural world.
